    Purpose of Position 


    Why does the job exist? 

    The Deputy Director I directly supervises the following Division personnel: Financial Specialist, Chief Custodian, and Maintenance Staff.

    How does it get done? 

    The Deputy Director oversees all budgetary functions, ranging from annual budget preparations to dally revenue deposits; oversees all aspects of the Physical Plant and operations of the Division's buildings to include 50 acres of grounds and parks and all related equipment and vehicles; oversees and administers the visitor admittance program; and planning coordinating.

    Ideal Candidate 

    The ideal candidate has:
    - A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university
    - At least five (5) years of supervisory experience
    - Specialized experience in budget and financial operations
    - Experience in the management of facility maintenance and operations

    Minimum Qualification 

    A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

    These combinations of education and experience qualify you for the position:

    1 High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 10 years of experience
    2 Associate's degree AND 8 years of experience
    3 Bachelor's degree AND 6 years of experience
    4 Master's degree AND 4 years of experience
    5 PhD degree AND 2 years of experience
    • Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
    • If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.

    Employment Requirements 

    Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.  Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

    Working Conditions 

    Work is conducted in an office setting, wlth extensive use of personal computers utilizing a wide variety of programs. Extensive use of general office equipment. Exposure to outside elements such as wind, rain, and sun.  Required to travel on occasion. May be required to work some holidays, weekends and after hours for special events.
