    Salary Range: Targeted Salary of $48,000 based on experience

    The Sam Noble Museum Archaeology Department seeks an experienced biological anthropologist or bioarcheologist to carry out analysis of ancestral remains from archaeological sites in Oklahoma that are subject to the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). At a minimum, this will include analyses to determine the minimum number of individuals, age, and sex. This position will also facilitate the specialized repackaging of ancestral remains for repatriation and review museum documentation and other sources to identify associated funerary objects. Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and respect for diverse systems of belief while participating in consultations with tribal representatives, archaeologists, and officials from local, state, and federal agencies. This position will work under the supervision of the Archaeology Department's Collection Manager/NAGPRA Coordinator and Curator of Archaeology.
