Association of Academic Museums and Galleries (AAMG)

What is AAMG?

AAMG is a Professional Interest Network of the Mountain-Plains Museums Association.

The Association of Academic Museums and Galleries is the leading educational and professional organization for academic museums, galleries, and collections. In recognition of the unique opportunities and challenges of its constituents, the AAMG establishes and supports best practices, educational activities and professional development that enable its member organizations to fulfill their educational missions.

  • Connect with colleagues

Go to the AAMG website  and join the AAMG Listserv.  This is the place where members can pose questions to each other, seek vendor recommendations, and share experiences among collegial peers.

  • Build your skills with professional development

AAMG supports members through a number of programs such as webinars, online meet-ups, and more. AAMG’s robust engagement at MPMA’s Annual Meeting includes AAMG-endorsed sessions, thought-leaders at the AAMG event and networking opportunities.

  • Enjoy fellowship and mentoring opportunities

Scholarships are available for AAMG members to attend MPMA’s Annual Meeting. The award covers basic conference registration, tickets to attend AAMG events, an invitation to the AAMG Breakfast, and a travel stipend. Mentoring is available to AAMG colleagues new to the field.

Please contact us if you would like to get more involved in AAMG or if you would like to submit a session or webinar idea. We welcome your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions.
