    The State Historical Society of North Dakota is seeking a New Media Specialist who will help promote the agency and provide information to the public through video production. Our goal is to provide engaging experiences and inspire a younger generation of museum-goers by showcasing our state’s amazing history.

    The New Media Specialist reports to the New Media Specialist Supervisor and will work with many team members throughout the agency. The primary responsibility of this position is video production for the agency using established graphic standards and ensuring ADA compliance. This includes but is not limited to promotional videos, behind-the-scenes videos, and educational videos.

    The New Media Specialist team is also responsible for the agency’s graphics, websites, photography, social media, and digital media. This position may be asked to help in those areas as needed.

    To be considered for this position, you must have five years of successful professional related work experience in video production, including pre-production, production, post-production, and distribution. College level or technical school in video production or other related field may substitute for up to two years of the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.

    Work experience should include advanced knowledge in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition; videography and video editing; sound and lighting; experience captioning videos for ADA compliance or using a captioning service and reviewing for accuracy; and publishing videos to YouTube, Facebook, and websites. Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail are also required to be successful in this position.

    Preference will be given to applicants with the following experience:

    • Graphic design and layout
    • Web design/development and Drupal CMS
    • Photography
