IKEducator
IKEducators are a vital part of the mission of IKEducation: To provide every K-12 student either online or onsite, with an innovative educational experience that enhances their understanding of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The number of students we serve is rapidly growing and IKEducation plans to grow with them. We strive to find effective ways to share knowledge and bring the artifacts and stories of the Eisenhower Presidential Library an Museum to life.
Reporting to the Director of Education, ideal candidates will be experienced in handling a wide range of educational skills and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must have extensive experience working with children, grades K-12, as well as adult groups. S/he must be well-organized, creative, flexible, and ready to welcome the challenges of mastering new topics and working with students of various learning levels.
IDEALLY, CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

A bachelor’s degree in Education or a substitute teacher’s accreditation.

Extensive experience with student learning groups.

The ability to work with all ages either in a classroom setting or as a tour guide.

Professional appearance, initiative, and integrity.

Desire to keep up with the innovative changes in museum education.

Experience with Apple iPad and iWork applications/software.
THE IKEducator WILL:

Facilitate a variety of IKEducation programs. Many can be viewed online at www.eisenhowerfoundation.net

Become highly knowledgeable on the topics and documents that are the basis of the IKEducation programs, as well as the Eisenhower Center as a whole.

Utilize Apple/Mac equipment, Apple iWork and Google Suite software.

Greet groups to familiarize them with their field trip schedule, the museum guides, etc..

Work with Foundation staff to prepare for upcoming groups, such as filling the student and teacher bags, making copies, or organizing artifacts.
This is an as-needed, part-time position offering $17.00 per hour. The facilitator will be given notice of upcoming dates at least two weeks in advance to be able to coordinate with personal schedules.
We have the most demand for IKEducators September through October and March through May, so candidates must be available during those months.
Facilitators are required to have a background check completed by the National Archives and Records Administration. This has no cost to it, but does require the applicant to provide identification materials and personal background history.
