THE CITY OF WACO SEEKS:
A Collection Manager for the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco, Texas
The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, a department of the City of Waco, was founded in 1964 and is the state-designated museum, repository, and Hall of Fame of the historic Texas law enforcement agency.
The museum collects and preserves artifacts and works of art from the founding of the Rangers in 1823 to the present. The Collection Manager is responsible for the historical administration of the collection including its cataloging, research, and storage; managing conservation, insurance, and storage; maintaining donor/lender relations; and participating in the exhibits/programs team.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organized, goal-oriented, enjoy learning and teamwork, and have polished communications and social skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in Museum Studies, Anthropology, or another discipline focusing on material culture

And three years of collections management experience.

Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under basic supervision, responsible for the preservation, documentation, and management of the artifacts and artworks in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum (TRHFM) collection, including acquisition, legal documentation, registration/cataloging, loans, database management, and acquisitions.
