Director Pioneer Woman Museum

    The Oklahoma Historical Society is seeking applicants for the director at the Pioneer Woman Museum in Ponca City.

    Duties Include:

    Coordinate the collections care and acquisition program at the museum to further the mission

     Oversee building maintenance and cleaning

     Prepare fundraising materials, assist with fundraising presentations, interact with donors, research funding opportunities and otherwise work with the Pioneer Woman Museum Advisory Board to increase donations and revenue at the museum.

     Oversee revenue generating activities for the museum such as gift shop, rentals, and programming

     Serve as the primary public contact for the Pioneer Woman Museum. This includes programming at area civic groups, promoting the center through the local media and acting as the primary communications link between the Oklahoma Historical Society and the community and the members of the Pioneer Woman Museum Advisory Board to coordinate efforts and resources to further the museum’s mission.

     Oversee the development and implementation of an active exhibit and programming schedule

     Develop and implement annual goals and objectives for the facility as well as long range plans to guide the work at the museum and ensure the best use of available resources

     Develop annual budget in cooperation with the private support group and the Oklahoma Historical Society and monitor financial statements to ensure expenses are in-line with the approved budget

     Provide supervision and leadership for employees and volunteers at the Pioneer Woman Museum

     This is a full-time, classified service position with the state of Oklahoma.  Benefits include retirement and insurance including a benefit allowance for dependent coverage.

    Anticipated Salary: $2,653 - $3,166 monthly
