    Marketing Coordinator

    Job Description or Duties:

    The Marketing Coordinator supports the planning, development, and execution of marketing and communications initiatives for the Museum of Nebraska Art. Answering to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for promoting exhibitions, educational programs, special events, membership opportunities, and community engagement efforts through a variety of advertising, digital marketing, and public relations strategies that align with the Mission of the MONA. The Marketing Coordinator collaborates with internal departments, external vendors, media partners, and community organizations to strengthen MONA’s public presence, increase audience engagement, and support institutional goals.

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field with three years of related experience

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with social media management, email marketing, and digital content creation
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and marketing platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, WordPress or similar tools
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Experience in writing, editing, and producing brochures, newsletters, advertisements, and other print and digital materials
    • Familiarity with website content management systems and analytics tools
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community partners
    • Passion for the arts, culture, and public programming
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and marketing platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, WordPress or similar tools

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in marketing, communications, promotions, graphic design or related field with five years of experience

    • Experience working in an art museum, museum, arts organization, nonprofit, or cultural institution preferred
    • Knowledge of current arts marketing best practices articulated by the American Alliance of Museums or other professional organizations
    • Knowledge of audience engagement strategies and community outreach initiatives
    • Experience with photography, video editing, or graphic design for promotional purposes
    • Graphic Design Experience is preferred

    The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of marketing, public relations, digital communications, and audience engagement strategies, with an understanding of best practices in arts, nonprofit, or cultural institution marketing. They demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with content management systems, social media platforms, graphic design and marketing software, and the ability to analyze marketing data to support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple projects, build effective relationships with community partners and media contacts, and creatively promote the museum’s mission, programs, and public presence.
